Seoul Day 13

The last installment.

COEX Aquarium
One of the largest I’ve been to.
We had a hard time navigating to the place.
It’s located in the COEX mall, which is part of the COEX Convention & Exhibition Center, which is seriously freaking huge!

YangGood Korean BBQ Lamb Halal Restaurant
Found this online, and decided that we have to try this!
Hοw tο gеt thеrе: Yeoksam Station. Subway Line 2. Exit 6. Walk straight аnd turn left οn thе first street.
Who can resist BBQ meat?!!!
We tried all the types of meat. Hur hur hur!
The waiter even cut the meat for us.

Seoul has been really amazing! And I am going to make sure that I’ll return soon.

Seoul Day 12

Nami Island
How to get there.
We took the train to Gapyeong Station. Take a taxi from Gapyeong Station to Namiseom Dock.
About 5 minutes.
We bought the ferry tickets there – 20 minutes ride to Nami Island.
You can check out the schedule timings in the link that I’ve provided.
Beautiful scenery.

Seoul Day 10-11

Ok, I am trying rush through this. Lol!

Butterfingers Pancakes – just beside our apartment
88-9 Cheongdam-dong, Gangnam-gu (강남구 청담동 88-9번지)
Cost: $$$
Service : Excellent – probably because we went on a weekday and in the morning.
Verdict : Wide variety of pancakes/waffles choices
Fluffy pancakes!

Noryangjin Market
Probably one of the most memorable experiences I had in Seoul.
Noryangin station – exit 1.
Once you exit the station, you could smell it. Fishy smell.
The place is slippery and wet. So you might not want to wear your favourite shoes/clothes. Heh heh!
We stood on the 2nd floor and you could see row and rows of stalls selling seafood! I love seafood, so I was extremely excited.
We wanted to have lunch here, so we proceed to choose one of the restaurants on the 2nd floor. Communication was a teeny weeny bit of a problem due to our lack of Mandarin and Korean.
Chose 1 restaurant and the kind ajumma lead us to the 1st floor to choose our seafood. I guess each restaurant has an affiliated stall, so you can’t go to anywhere else.
Since it was our first time, so we just follow with the flow.
If you have more time, you might want to explore the whole market and compare prices before deciding. Oh well, maybe next time.
Once that’s done, we paid for the raw seafood and went back to the restaurant.
You can get the chef to cook them as per your preference – baked, fry, soup, grilled, steam etc.

Children’s Grand Park
216, Neungdong-ro, Gwangjin-gu, Seoul
서울특별시 광진구 능동로 216 (능동)
Children’s Park Station (Seoul Subway Line 7), Exit 1
I thought I would see a whole lot of kids here, but no.
The place was practically deserted, probably because of the heavy snow the night before.
The ground was very, very slippery. I slipped, and fell hard on my bum.
Since the place was deserted, my kids had the place to themselves.
I must say, they throughly enjoyed screaming and running in the park.
There’s a small zoo as well.
If you have kids, you will enjoy the park! 🙂 🙂 🙂

Seoul Day 9

Time to move.
Moving in to Gangnam area for the rest of our stay.
M Chereville Serviced Apartment
Very near Gangnam station.
Clean, spacious and warm.
Very near the shops, food, mini-marts, and just about everything.
It started snowing when we arrived.
Kids got super excited and started jumping in the streets, inviting stares everywhere 🙂 🙂 🙂

Gangnam underground shopping
Woah! Super huge. From make up to toiletries to shoes to bags to clothes.
You name it. You might find it there.
Must go place.

Seoul Day 8

Street shopping time.
Hongdae
We love street snacks! As we walked down the streets, we were so facinated with all the street food.
We tried the followings:
1. Korean-style Pancake Hotteok
2. Whole Fried Squid ‘Ozzang’
3. 동빵 Dong Bang: Poo Bread: the kids had the one with red bean filling – shaped with poop. Haha!
4. Egg Bread 계란빵
The pictures are all in my other camera. Will try to upload them here later.
Lots of winter wear for sale, but we didn’t buy any. There’s not going to be much use for me, back in SG.
We did grabbed some cute socks though.

Trick Eye Museum, HongDae
We got the bundle tickets, which included entry into the ice museum.

Ewha Women’s University
I was told that this is one of the places to check out for street shopping.
Definitely a shopping haven for women! If you are taking the subway, take line 2 to Ewha Station and leave exit 2 or 3 and head straight.
You’ll see rows and rows of shops selling trendy women’s wear at afforable prices.
It started drizzling though and it was freezing cold.
I told the husband that we have to come to Seoul again for shopping in summer.
Shopping in the cold street is not really my thing!

Since it was raining, we looked for a cafe to rest our aching feet and we could really use some hot coffee!

Table A Cat Cafe – just outside Ewha Women’s University. Sorry! No english translations.
TableA
OMG! So cute!
